Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows of anyone that has added a third seat on a bubble glass C3 model?? Is that possible? the reason I am saying that is that I would like to go on a roadtrip w my son and my wife on the vette, but has only 2 seats. Its just a theoretical thought, I know sounds like sacrilege but I like to push boundaries time to time and I know too that the C3 is the most modified vette model of all...
Thank you
David

I think you could modified and make it happen loose the storage compartments.
i knew a midyear coupe in the 80s with a small back seat, saw one early vette that the trunk was a rumble seat.... but i actually would be concerned with the safety liability issues on this one,

My parents have now told me that they just used to put me in the luggage compartment in the 79 when I was a baby. They'd just put my bouncy chair thing back there and then tie it down with the luggage straps....
Obviously, this is a stupid, stupid horribly unsafe idea that you should in no way do -and definitely illegal, but in the 80's ideas this stupid were more socially acceptable and commonplace. ;-)
The topic of taking a kid(s) on fun road trips or car shows in the Corvette has a tendency to end up with the car for sale and a search for a Camaro or something with a back seat.
My friends dad bought a new 68 427 .
We went for many rides with the back window out.
Sitting backwards up against the seat backs.
Before seat belt laws, if you were small enough vetts were 4 passenger.
A chick straddling the console was not impossible either.
That is why I ended up owning a C3.
I definitely remember car rides in my Dad's '82 CE with all 4 of us. It was much nicer when he got a 75 vert that was made to look like the '82 CE and there was a parent and kid in each car. That must have been an awesome sight to see going down the road.
I recall recently a parent being ticketed for having a kid in the back of her vette, so I would tread lightly.

Sadly.... this is exactly why my wife & I had to wait till near retirement to finally get our Corvette. Her words MANY years ago.... "We have kids, so we`ll ALWAYS need a back seat!" So it was... Camaro, GTO, Chevelle, Grand Prix, Mustang.... until now!
As previously mentioned....the liability issues of doing this is something I would NOT even begin to entertain. A person would not have enough money to get me to do it.
