Hey everyone, i've been searching the forums but couldn't find an answer. The wipers on my '75 stopped working. Previously they would only work on high speed. I've checked the switch and the motor with the help of Willcox Corvette's info and they both check out okay. (both are fairly new) The fuse looks good, what else can I check? Thanks in advance for your help!
The first thing I would do is to get some wires and connect the wiper motor directly a 12V power source and then ground the two terminals on either side of the power terminal to simulate the wiper running and switching between off/low/high. If that doesn't work then your wiper motor may be bad.
If the motor does work during this bench test then you can try running wires from the connector to the motor and see what is giving you problems.
Check and make sure you put the connector on the switch the correct way- it'ill go on both ways..
Thanks Richard454, I've been looking for pictures of those connectors and haven't found any yet! I got the wiring diagram from papwana years ago, but that doesn't show the orientation of the connectors.
Thanks for the replies; so in case someone finds this thread in the archives, I ended up adding a separate ground wire to one of the screws that holds the switch on-solved the problem! Works on low and high speed now!
