72 air cleaner with edelbrock carb
I am looking to add a new air cleaner to my 72. It currently has a edelbrock 2701 intake and a Edelbrock 1406 carb. I was curious if anyone has used this base and if it worked out OK.

I can't answer that particular question but if you are experimenting with mix and match carbs and air cleaners make sure you don't slam the hood until you have proper clearance with the hood or you will be looking at a hood repair . Before you close the hood get some play-doh from some kids and set a ball on the top of the air cleaner and gently close ( not latch ) a little at a time while checking the ball to see how much it is compressing . When you are sure , carefully latch the hood and check again.
Thank you for the tip.

Hi j,
Sometimes it's the elbow for the crankcase breather that hits the right rear corner of the carburetor.
It depends on the configuration of the carburetor… Holley double-pump spread bore for one
Regards,
Alan
