Default Vacuum headache

Hi guys,

Recently reinstalled a vacuum setup on my 68 project from scratch.. it had previously had nothing - wiper door missing and headlights replaced with fixed square Le Mans type things.

All brand new pipes, relays actuators etc..

All seems to hold vacuum, lights go up, wiper door goes up... but it's all then REALLY reluctant to go back down again..

E.g.. the headlights lock out at fully raised position, but won't budge downwards when you either manually override or use headlight switch.. BUT, if you help them (just touch the hinge to start the process) they do go down slowly.

Similarly, wiper door is pretty reluctant to shut..

Any hints or tips greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Dave

Did you test all the new parts before installing them? I replaced my entire vacuum system and encountered a similar problem. My issue was 2 of the 3 new vacuum relays I purchased were faulty. The third failed about a month later, to get my system working correctly required help from a forum member who rebuilt my original relays.
