The light was a part of all 68-72 cars.

This is the typical configuration. Your car appears to be missing the hole for the light and switch in the compartment farme, and the shield and plastic lens that's part of the compartment flocked liner.

I added a couple of photos.
If you look in the jack compartment you should be able to see the connector for the lamp /switch.
