According to my google search it is a corvette carb....It's worth more if it has never been rebuilt, but still re-buildable. I can't help you much on what that value is.
Hi Bill,
I believe a q-jet 7040507 was the carburetor used on 1970 model 350 h.p. engines…. with ECS. (Evaporative Control System)
My understanding is that during the 70 model year most cars equipped with the ECS were to be delivered in California.
Regards,
Alan
The second number stamped on the carb relates to the build date. Alas, it is not original to a car built in the '70 model year. The first 3 numbers relate to the julian day of manufacture and the last number is the year. The date would be the 195th day in the year 1977 (probably). Also known as a service replacement.
Unfortunately, not really a high dollar carb. I would place it's value on it's actual condition for a rebuild for a number of applications.
As stated above, your carb is an over the counter service replacement built in 1977. If it hasn't been mucked up in previous overhuals, it's a good base carb for Lars to rebuild.
