Just thought I would share this neat way to change the pull on your accelerator cable. While searching the forum some folks have used a zip tie. But I think this is even better. Just grab your fishing tackle box and grab a 1/4" diameter split shot. Drill on center a .065-.070 hole with a slight opening on the slit. Spread it, compress it and that's it. This works so nicely.
Did you do this cause the was slack when you depressed the pedal , I was looking at my pedal when I did the carpets and noticed some play there. Great Idea.

Yes. When the cable was pulled forward all the way it was ahead of the ball stud on the carb about a half inch or a little more. Adding this one split shot solved everything and only put it about an 1/8" ahead. Now my secondaries are fully open and I still have allowance for my sound deadener and new carpet

Be careful that you don't over travel the throttle at the carb. It could stick over center.
Very doubtful that could happen due to the stop tang on the throttle linkage. When the secondaries are fully open your stop tang is engaged and that puppy is pretty stout.

Good enough. I'll disregard the instructions that came with my carb,,
