As usual when considering a project car…. check the birdcage for rust very carefully.
If it had the roof panels put in place choosing some 'partial to full shade' plants would be possible.

I can dig the rope light thing, and being up in Michigan your planting zone is different than mine, but it needs lots more color. I also see no provisions for dogs/cats/wild life shelter.

I think that when considering that project car it might be advisable to choose the kind of plants you can smoke....
