Hi,
I remember this car being the subject of a couple of threads in the last few months.
I believe some photos of the rear of the car and engine showed that there were still a few engineering 'details' to be worked out.
I guess if someone bought it and worked on it everyday they'd be just finishing up at the time the new mid-engine Corvette makes it's debut!
Regards,
Alan
If you guys hurry, you could have a midengine Corvette on the street before Chevrolet brings out the C8.
When I saw it at Webster, it was the first time I saw it there. The Turkey Rod Run was in November so I suspect it was "found" or dug out of some storage area last fall.
One question I guess worth reviving this thread.
Anybody (Richard?) ever considered putting an LS4 in its original transverse orientation in the back of a C3.

YEP.... When driving my 73 on the Hotrod Power tour 2014- and thinking that if the motor was behind you, the interior wouldn't be soooo frickin hot!!!
The track is about 3½" different- so really no issue there.
The ONLY issue- is to fit the motor behind the stock seating location is the center of the rear wheels would have to be moved back about 7 inches.
The Impala SS weighs in around 3800lbs-and with the stock 303hp runs 14 sec 1/4 mile.
Here's some good info on the motor- swapping to a 6 speed etc-

tilt the engine?
Offset the transmission from the engine so you can put the engine a bit more behind?
Edit: after reading the link, it looks like the engine would have to be flipped front to back and run in reverse rotation, or maybe there is a transmission that 'exits' forward of the engine instead of backward.
Thanks Richard - I take that as a great compliment.
It is a kit - but most people say it like I cheated somehow. But when you pass a new corvette or GTR on the track with something you built its kinda cool. Took about three years for me to take apart a c5 for parts and build the car. Really similar effort to a body off restoration on the c3. Its balanced almost exactly the same as a Porsche 911 - 60% rear. 311s for the back tires makes it stick. Weighs 2500lbs with me in it. 395 hp to the ground.
