My 71 convertible is leaking water into the interior along the back wall. There are holes behind each hinge for the deck lid. Do those holes lead anywhere.
I don't believe the water is leaking under the gasket. The carpet on the back wall is completely soaked.
Need to find the leak before I replace the carpet.
Hi Russ,
Is it possible that one of the rubber drain tubes for the astro ventilation plenums in the rear deck are leaking water into the rear compartment?
Regards,
Alan
The lowest arrow in the photo points to the drain.
The other arrows point to fiberglass plenum and the block-off plate used on cars with a/c.
on my 69 convertible if the drains get clogged water fills the rear plenum areas and leaks past the astro vent flaps.
clearing the drains always fixes the problem

Alan,
Sorry, forgot to mention that the car is A/C equipped. So, if I'm not mistaken, there are no rubber drain tubes.

Thought A/C convertible cars didn't have astro vent flaps.
Hi Russ,
You're right.
I always confuse the time period during production when the rear bulkhead was moved which eliminated the need for the rubber drain tubes on convertibles.
Sorry!

Alan
