Default My 71 Corvette

So far I put my 71 in two shows this year..scored a top 10 in the first one and a 1st place in the second. I'm considering going back to the original color, war bonnet yellow..but this red is starting to grow on me.

Looks really nice. I'd only change back to original if...

1) The current paint is worn down up close. It presents well in the pics, so your paint is probably not worn to that point yet.
2) You have an extra $7-12k+ burning in your pocket
3) You prefer orig vs. this red. I like both colors, so I'd be cool with either.

it was painted back in the early 90's. A friend of mine owns a local body shop. He told me whoever painted it put a lot of love into it.

Default Almost clones of each other...

I too own a '71 that was born War Bonnet Yellow and painted red by previous owner. Believe I like the red better personally. I've also thought about adding a passenger side mirror, as yours has, for safety reasons. I like your hood better...!

it's a bit of a mystery, I have the rear sway bar and 6500 rpm tach..but the motor is a 350 from a 1973. It currently has a 350 trans in it.

WB is not as easy as one might think to get right! I've seen too many repainted that think it's correct, but few that really are.... Anyone can have a red car......

Leave it red until you don't want it to be red, anymore. It shows fine as it is, and folks like 'resale' red.

Eventually, you will tire of it....that's the time to get it painted.

War Bonnet Yellow. I had a hot wheels corvette when I was a kid that was WBY and I've always loved that color. But I agree, if you don't have and extra $12K burning a hole in your wallet its hard to justify

changing colour is a serious issue.
You will spend 10-15$, and will add only 3-5K$ value

I would only do it if needed: body work or weared actua colour
