Default Window "seal"

Hi,

My windows "seal" (I don't know what the English word for this is) are very bad, and I would like to replace them.

But the chrome lists are in good shape, and I hope I can replace the "seal" only.

Is that possible, if yes, what to buy and where?

Thx,
John

Hi John,
The outer window seal has the stainless bead as part of it.
The bead has 'prongs' on it that clip into corresponding holes in the stainless window door trim.
The seals are readily available from various vendors.
Regards,
Alan

The rubber seal, the stainless bead, and one of the prongs.

Two arrows point to the rubber seal and bead and the single arrow to the stainless steel trim piece.

Hi John,
The larger vendors sell the seals.
There's a slight difference in length of a seal for a coupe or for a convertible. So order the correct pair for your car.

Alan

I need for both my 69 Convertible and my 69 Coupe.
And I need inside and outside.

And I would love to keep my hardware, as it is factory GM, and it looks very nice. I would hate to put China "SS" lists on my car, that would look awful within a year.

BR,
John

Hi John,
Be careful here.
You posted 'inside' and 'outside'.
The word 'inside' refers to the seal that's on the top of the interior trim panel. Is that what you mean?
The outer seals available from Corvette Central seem to be the good choice now although the actual configuration of the rubber 'flap' will be different than what are on your 69 cars if they're original.
CC used a later seal as a guide when having their reproduction made.
Their use is o.k. for most folks, but not quite everyone.
Regards,
Alan

Sorry for my bad English :- (

By "inside" I means this seal.
It is like the "outside" that has a "small" V and the "inside" is a "big" V

Both are due for replacement, the are very hard, and have cracks.

Hi John,
Your English is fine.
I'm not sure that the "inner seal strip" is available separately from the door trim panel.

Alan
