I am cleaning out the shop and found a box of 5 3/4" T-3 bulbs. Can someone tell me the difference between the 2 prong and the 3 prong bulbs? The 2 prong bulbs have a clear T-3 logo in the center and the 3 prong bulbs have a ribbed logo in the center. The bulbs are in excellent condition (no sandblasting) and I will be selling them as soon as I determine what they are.
Hi cj,
The original T-3 lamps are of interest to some restorers.
One thing that indicates what year car the lamps are appropriate for is the configuration of the T logo and the triangle or lack of triangle around it.
Regards,
Alan
Here's an example:
T-3 in a triangle with vertical lines in the triangle. Used from 68 through 'late-ish' 71 production.
Thanks for the info Alan. I have seven bulbs...only one has the ribbed logo. The rest have the clear logo. Do you know what their application was? These bulbs are in excellent condition.
The NCRS guys want these....the rest of us don't really.
The old T-3's rremind me of the the old LUCAS saying...
Lucas= prince of darkness.
I will say that if the bulbs have that grey cast to them...the tungsten plating the inside of the bulb...they are no where near as valuable as some bright shiny clear ones.
