Flipped up the head lights as a preschool/summer school crowd walked by hand in hand.
All the eyes went wide open as one kid screamed ''transformer!''.....

Normally when I drive by in my Corvette beautiful women just wave, ask what year, and toss their panties in my direction. I always assumed it was just a Vette thing. Dont you guys have this same problem?

I get a lot of " cool car " and thumbs up when I drive my 76, which has a big block and side pipes, but the paint job is a 100 footer. Now even though my 94 is in mint condition, I do not get much reaction, unless it's another vette owner.

I have always said no matter what the condition a c3 is in, it has the best look and lines of any corvette. IMO.

I get a lot of waves, thumbs up and even the occasional hooting and hollering from teenagers that like the car. I also get the Corvette wave from all Corvette generations. To be honest, I enjoy the pointing and attention the car gets.

I guess you never heard that Vettes and Harleys go together . That subject came up here recently and there were many pictures of both owned by the same people . Do a search .

I get constant thumbs-up, A O.K.'s, fist pumps and horn honks while driving. At rest, a demographic researcher would get jiggy watching kids, teens, young adults, grown adults and old farts (like me) asking questions. I've had my '70 B.B. 4-sp. rag top on the road since '96 and honestly can't think of a time I didn't exchange waves with another Vette pilot and that goes for now and the peeps driving C-7's. I make a point to thumbs-up anyone driving a back in the day car or truck of any make and usually get same in return. I can't say Texas is simply a friendlier state, but maybe it's people are. Recently a 25-ish to 30-ish woman stopped me in the Kroger parking lot and ask if she could take a picture of her car and mine together. She was driving a '17, black-black Z-06. I said okay but made sure she knew I was happily married.

a couple of my favorites were; after my first car show i was walking back to my car and there was a mom with two young kids walking in front of me. One of the kids pointed at my car and said, "look mom, it's the coolest car in the world!". I let them sit in the car and mom took pictures.
the other favorite was as I was slowing down to exit onto the interstate a black car pulled up beside me and a young asian guy leaned over and yelled, "NICE CAR!" and gave me a thumbs up. I yelled "thanks" gave a thumbs up back. He pulled away and I saw the tail lights and realized he was driving a GTR. I thought how amazing it is to be driving an old chevrolet and have a young asian kid driving a godzilla slow down to show his appreciation.

Another C7 owner here who appreciates Corvettes regardless of age and who waves at every passing Vette driver. I had an '84 before my kids were born and now that they're out of the house I've got a new C7. I _WILL_ own a '69 or '70 at some point. The early C3 body styles are still my favorites!

Best response was from a C7 driver who said he would rather have my 68 convert than his new C7. He must have received the first recall notice for some pesky electronic problem.

I get a lot of thumbs up when I drive either one. And that's how I look in the '72.

Default Touch

I have had a few sort of unique cars over my driving lifetime. The phenomenon with the C3 that I have noticed is that people who admire the car have a sort of a "compulsion" to touch my car. Never have I experienced this behavior since I took ownership of the Corvette....

I've had the usual "nice car" call outs, and most importantly, waves from those of our generation who you can tell appreciate the preservation of a classic car. That's normal.
Last night driving home in my 81 a guy in an old Audi was chasing me up the mountain switchback road, trying to keep up. It was fun taking the hairpin turns at a spirited pace (but still under the speed limit) and watching the guy struggle to control his car, he couldn't stay in his lane. After a while I let him pass so he could admire my front end in his rear view mirror... :-)

I "raced" a Toyota Camry last year when two young boys in the backseat goaded their dad into revving his engine at me... When they caught back up at the next light the kids and dad both were waving and grinning.

I used to commute down a switchback mountain road, and would egg the guy behind me on. Just keep picking up speed gradually till you see him sliding into the weeds.....

Now the usual is when I gas it up and the guy at the next pump says it sounds wicked.
