Hows it going guys, when it comes to Corvettes I totally have never dealt with them so I am getting a trade for a 74 stingray and wanted to ask some questions.
I am looking today at a 74 model with the 350 motor matching numbers and AC but the body kit the car has on is making me question if its stock or not, owner is telling me that it came on the car when he bought it and its called a long bumper but I cant find info on it nowhere.
Please help or point me in the right direction.
Also what should I look for on 74 to determine price.
Thanks
Here is some pics of the car for reference.

The owner may have purchased the car that way, but the body is not stock. Front and rear aftermarket parts have been installed at some point in the past.

Google > Images > 1974 Corvette will help a bit.
I do understand this but what kit would this be and does it add or remove value
Hi FP,
Welcome!
The car looks like a pretty nice car with a modified body.
If you're interested in a car with body modifications it may be something to consider.
The first thing to check, as with all 68-82 Corvettes, is the condition of the frame and the body's birdcage (steel skeleton).
These cars rusted so that should ALWAYS be your first concern. DON"T fall in love with a car and then realize it's rusty.
Good Luck!
Alan
From the photos this APPEARS to be quite a nicely done car.
For that reason determining if the modifications increase or decrease the value will be a bit hard to determine without more information.
People generally have strong feelings about modified cars like this one… they either like them very much or don't like them at all.
My view on modified cars is so ridged that my assessment of it's value would be too jaded to even consider.
What do you think about modified Corvettes? Perhaps you haven't really thought about that yet.
Regards,
Alan

While my view is as rigid as Alan's, I would just say that the body changes likely reduce value in the market in general. It's true that if you like it, it might have value to you, but objectively most any informed buyer when looking at the car would expect a reduction in value/price because of all the body changes. Someone who likes it would simply benefit by this price, but probably wouldn't pay more for them if he understood the market. Speaking very generally, of course.

So what would you say is the value of this car cause to be true I would just sell it forward.
