I would guess the owner knows it.. but a real red rotisserie restored great paint AC roadster with great metal, great options and all that new stuff and numbers matching ( not LT1 but base engine) even with wrong hood is still worth alot, and he will get 35+ for it.
that condition and restored to that degree and being a real LT1 would be worth somewhere north of 50.
we have seen sellers hype up their cars saying it has LT1 spec engine and claim a LT1 car. how many real LT1 cars have their original engine left anyway? An LT1 hood fools a lot of rookies, buyers and sellers.
asking 45 for a 35K car is pretty common. he did almost get 44 from the OP if it wasn't for a last second question he asked. he would not have got a real LT1 out of the deal, but he would not have overpaid that much.
but the seller saying it is an LT1, and a "munchie m21 rock crusher" and saying it is a 60K car, and trying to pass that window sticker is somewhat insulting to a knowledgable LT1 buyer.
Yeah some goofy stuff in the ad, either its someone flipping it or someone else that got suckered for their money at one time. Heck they may not even be aware of it.
Could be a real nice driver though if bought right...so which one of you owns this thing come out and tell us about your clone.
I saw the same car and was going down to Ga. to take a look. I read the comments and i suspect it's not a true LT-1. That being said there are a couple of things that I can't explain, for example the exterior color was only available in black and red yet the trim tag shows the exterior color as red with saddle? I'd like to speak with you if at all possible before I make the trip from NJ. Rich 732-673-2880
Please read the above posts again. The window sticker is bogus and no 71 LT1 came with Air Cond.

Thanks Bob, I looked up the options for a 71 LT-1 and the red exterior paint color only came in a red or black vynl, yet the carand trim tag say red with saddle. I also noticed that there is an alarm key on the back of the car which I associate with a 72'? What do you think? I plan on going down next week to see the car since I'll be in Savannah on business anyway.
Hi rd,
When ordering the car originally the salesman's information listed the 'suggested' color combinations. For Mille Miglia Red they were black and red.
A color 'over-ride' could be requested for another color interior that was also available in that model year.
The ORIGINAL trim tag would have indicated the exterior and interior colors the car left St.Louis with.
The alarm was an option for the 71 model year. UA6, a whopping $31.60!
It became standard for the 72 model year.
It's a sharp looking car. Putting LT-1 in the listing title gets clicks on Craigslist (I put keywords at the END of the listing when I'm selling stuff). If you can get it for the right price, for what it is (an LT-1 themed resto-mod), it could be a really nice car.
I wouldn't trust a single word in the description, though. I doubt it even has an "ELDERBROCK ALUM Intake".

Reason: Typo
Just look at the wording, the descriptions. The seller probably doesnt know enough about the car or cars in general. Its not an ac LT1 with # match....highly doubtful. Look at it as said, as a nice hot rod if its still worth it to you go for it just dont pay LT1 money thats all.
Everyone with an old car says its numbers matching lots of times they really dont know any better.
x2 on that sheet being bogus..maybe he bought it and believed it found out otherwise. Too many question marks move on.
That window sticker could be disproven as authentic by NCRS...it is missing the ident number which relates it back to the build order and billing history -pretty sure that this is the order confirmation number back to the original dealer to whom the car was being billed. Not the order number, the confirmation number issued by Chevrolet Central Office confirming an order for a vehicle to be manufactured.
