plastic rear window

hello friends ,is any removeable rear window that is in a 68 thru 72 ever made with plastic ,and not glass?

all had safety glass from the factory.

but the frames do open and I suppose you could put in a sheet of whatever you want in there.

Tinted arcilac plastic rear window on mine. No issues so far. Going on 3 years.

My '69 had a clear plastic rear window in it when I bought it. I didn't notice it at the time I purchased it and didn't know anything about window stamps/dates at the time. I've since replaced this plastic window with a "real" one dated Jan'70 but still have the plastic one. I thought that the original safety glass window got broken at some time and one of the previous 7 owners of this Corvette had improvised a replacement put of plexiglas.

All safety glass from the factory. You can change it if you want.

In that era, glass was cheaper than plastic.
