I just cant get this car out of my mind I sent a pre purchase evaluation inspection service to go see it tomorrow and give me a report.

There's just none of these C3 resto mods around and I can really beef up that 427.

I can tell you from personal experience that finding a nice C3 with flared fenders is like finding a unicorn. You might be able to find older builds that need everything. And many are being built now with the more modern L88-style flare (mostly high dollar LS builds). Most of these newer cars are still being enjoyed by the owners that built them. There just aren't any on the market already done at a 'mid-range' price point. The last nice one I saw on the market was an LS swap with the smaller 2" flares and a flat/matte paint scheme. It was a nice car and I think it sold in the 50's.

As an owner of a 69 restomod I can tell you it gets attention where ever it goes and sometimes unwanted. Although mine does not have flares or a LS motor it gets up and goes. Good luck with your search.

I've seen this one on the net, might have been an old for sale ad, before you got it. I tried to email whoever owned it to see if it was for sale but got no reply. Sure is nice!

I have owned it for almost 5 years and changed many things - coil over front suspension, dual mont rear suspension, QA1 shocks, custom Chris Straub cam, tilt steering, wheels, C6 seats. etc. The car is not perfect but alot of fun. PM me if ypu want more info, pix and video

This is the ad I saw on you car. I'm sure it was an old ad and I knew the price had to be wrong. Had no idea you were a member here.

I bought the original Intro Pentia wheels that were on Killer/Kaoss and have them on my car now. The wheels that Rob replaced them with are 360 forged Concave Straight Five wheels. They are a bit too big by my taste and I prefer the original ones better, but that is totally subjective and it all worked out well since I got the wheels I like and he got what he liked.

was thinking the same thing.
A few years back I looked at a 68 BB that had a "frame on" resto. It looked really nice underneath, until I made my way to the top half of the frame and was all crusty with rusty

Dash is too custom.

That's what got my attention....custom dash/interior. Totally different and nobody else has one. The interior on my old 67 restomod was 10k to build, just for the leather, not the dash. My opinion, he has double that in this car. I like cars that nobody else has...hence my 67 GT500 restomod with a super charged 5.4 engine.

Just the wheels BTW were 1535.00 each. The guys got some money in this car.

I'll have the inspectors report a little later today

350.00 for a total pre vehicle inspection report....money well spent!

Inspector called and gave me the run down....I'll pass on this one.

The search continues

The inspector said all in all its a very nice car. Paint/body is perfect, undercarriage is nice, no rust but not finished like the top half of the car. Said the interior presents very well and not cheesey at all.

Vibrates at 30 MPH and above. Said he wouldn't suggest taking this on the hiway at 70 MPH

1/2 play in steering

Dry rotted boots

PS reservoir seeping/leaking. Leaks bad when engine shut off

Poor weld on the exhaust pipes...collectors leaking

Poor brakes....have to step on them hard

Low coolant level

Passenger wiper gets stuck when turned off 1/2 way on the glass

RF 1500.00 wheel chrome peeling

Quart low on oil

Minor rear main seal leak

No power for a BB 427

Hood popes open when driving...had to stop twice to close it

Told the inspector I think I'll pass on this one. He said wait till I get his full written report and pictures then make a decision.

For 65k this car needs to be absolutely perfect. I'd give him 50 and make the necessary repairs.

Nice ride, can you post pictures of interior, I'd like to see the C6 seats. Hows the headroom (I'm 5"11), I'd like to upgrade my 68 seats.

Wrong post, meant for #44

I'm glad you're sharing all this, it gives me hope that the resto mod (68 vert 427 NOM) I'm currently doing may yet have value to someone other than me.

I could not use the c3 tracks, it sat too high. Made my own
Brackets. No slide adjustment, you should
Have have pleanty of head room at 5'11. It does
move you closer to the wheel as it is
more padded on the seat back.

I got the full, written report with 91 pictures late last night. Whoever said in this thread, "lip stick on a pig" nailed it. This car is worth 40 to 45...no way he's got 100k into it. Don't know how to convert PDF pictures to Jpeg to show you guys what I'm taking about. I'll add to the list of additional issues....

Bent convertible top mechanism..wont stay latched when up

Chipped glass both sides

Trans/ oil leaks

Driver seat mount bolts protruding thru floor

AC compressor smashing under side of hood...looks terrible

AC vents blowing water/condensation

Totally bent/twisted hood hinge....would only open 9 inches

Oily/messy undercarriage

Rusted susp parts

Rusted exhaust...bubba did the welding

1/2 dollar size, jagged hole in the frame rail

6 small holes in driver floor pan...have no idea whats going on there.

This inspector save me from making a huge financial mistake. Even though it was expensive hiring an inspector, I'll do it again if I find another car
