When my dad was in flight school during the Vietnam War he bought a corvette. He claims this corvette was a 1970 Coupe, Automatic Transmission, British Racing Green Exterior, with a 454 CID 465 HP engine. He bought it brand new from the dealership in may of 1970! How could this be possible?
Is there any paperwork to back this claim? Any vin number to search for? Let me guess, its just a story your father tells.....
The factory never made one on the assembly line. I suppose a company like Motion, Berger, etc could have made it happen with an engine swap but that's about it.

Hi C_h,
No there's no mechanism to search for old VINs in place.
If you HAVE the car's VIN you can search for the car using the VIN on sites like the C3 Registry to see if it might still exist and someone has registered it.
Very nice story… but just a story. It was likely an LS5 with 390 horsepower which was still quite a special engine.
lots of stories out there as time goes by get better
Nothing wrong with an LS5..back then though you could have dealer install about anything if you paid em. They are what they are, dontget too caught up in that stuff or let it keep you from enjoying it.
Were there any cars Produced in British Racing Green? I saw a picture of him next to the car a few years back and it looks darker than Donney Brooke Green.

Not from the factory. I hardly doubt any domestic car builder would paint an American car a foreign car color. Once it left the dealer floor anything could be done to it. I don't have the factory colors here in front of me but I think only one green was available in 70.
