Just looking forward to getting it back on the road and running after a loooong time. Read all the pro and cons about poly ad nauseam and decided to go OE for now. Maybe down the road i'll want to change things up.
Thanks.

How did the snubber bushing install go? Any hole enlargements necessary? I found an OEM upper cushion on eBay for a reasonable amount of money, and the batwing supports on Amazon. I still need the lower cushion though. Were you happy with the aftermarket solution for the lower cushion?

Hey G,
I did not forget about you. I took on a bedroom/ensuite project almost at the same time and what was supposed to be done by Halloween is now way behind. So i did not install it yet. Hopefully b4 too long. I did get the rear back after being re-rebuilt, and got it attached to the carrier. Want to clean up the area before the install. Glad you found that upper cushion. AC Delco bushings, can't go wrong. Yes. The lower cushion I rec'd was acceptable so i will use that 1. Im wondering who will complete it 1st!!

What made you decide to rebuild the differential? I need to do something with mine as well. Fresh bushings are a start, but it still leaks, and howls at high speed. Was yours having similar issues? I still think you’ll finish both of your projects before I can start mine (it’s killing me).

It was strictly the power of suggestion. What started out as a simple switch to a fiberglass spring resulted in the entire rearend removal, sandblasted and primed. A work buddy asked if I planned on changing out the gears and so it began. I bought a really clean one in 91, took it apart in 01 and missed out on a lot of driving.
Bought the house which took and apparently still is taking precedent. But I'm back at it and I hope to take a day after Thanksgiving and get it in.
I went with a NOS GM gasket as it was the thinnest of the 3 I had and Torco 85/140 GL 6 fluid with 4oz of the GM additive. Ill keep you posted.
