Default Dealer Codes

Hello;

I have been working to track down the history of my car. So far, it's pointing that my car came from Atlanta.

The dealer code says that it was Provo Utah. The dealer is no longer in business.

Curious, back in the day, did dealers do car swaps like they do today.

I am thinking that someone from Atlanta wanted the specific car and the dealer searched and found the one in Provo UT.

Only other thing is that NCRS gave me the wrong dealer code.

Is this possible? Or do you know other possibilities that would make sense?

Thank you

Yes, my NCRS report showed that my 63 was delivered to a dealer in St Louis. But my original owner provided his cancelled check made out to a Corvette dealer a few blocks away, a couple months later. Looked obvious that there was an inventory swap or something like that, while the car was still new.
