1982 engine swap
Looking for a project to do. How hard would it be to put an L82 style small block into an 82 Collectors Edition? Just a thought that this would be unique, more reliable and better horsepower. Thoughts?

The same basic engine. All accessories will bolt on just like the original. You will need to deal with the removal of the fuel injection unless you're planning on using an FI system on the new engine. You will also need to work out the TCC lockup system.

There are so many Collectors Editions out there. Unless it is in a museum, they won't be worth much. I figure if you can find a decent one for a good price that needs minimal work to the body and interior, why not just drop a traditional small block in it and have something different

it all ready has a traditional small block in it .change heads ,cam and intake for more performance.and then change over to a 5 speed.or you could update to any of the new fuel injections.or change it to a vert.how much cash do you have?
