Could one of you vert owner confirm how this section aligns with the doors from the factory? mine is lower (as pictured) when the toneau matches the fender lines.

This is a 69 that as far as I know hasn't ever been apart.
You can see the fit of the deck lid to the rear quarter is quite good… but the fit to the door isn't quite as good.
This might be because after this time the door hinges need a bit of adjustment?
Thanks Alan, I might have an after market piece on mine, both sides do the exact same thing and both side line up with the fenders spot on. I suppose I could glass the top to bring it up to snuff...
Body panel alignment could vary greatly on some of the early c3. On my 68 convertible with all its original fiberglass, the drivers side is perfect, on the passenger side it looks just like your picture.
I just live with it, but you can probably improve the alignment by massaging the rear deck hinges and hold downs.
