Ok, I know this is a long shot, but Ill never know unless I ask. I have recently found the original owner of my 81 thanks to getting the original delivery paperwork when I bought the car. Unfortunately, she does not remember the gentleman's name that she sold the car to. I am trying to track down that owner to see if he may know where the V54 roof panel carriers are. So has anyone on here ever owned a 1981 corvette VIN: 1G1AY8766BS400537 ? It was originally bought in Texas and the gentleman that bought it from the original owner also lived in Texas.

Hi 8484,
Are you trying to find these because you want the carriers that was on your car originally or because they're so difficult to find at all?
Regards,
Alan

Alan, I would like to find the original set that came with the car. I personally would not use them but it would be nice to have the original set that came with the car. Like I said, I know its a long shot, for all I know the guy that bought it 35 years ago may have just liked the look of it and kept it for a year or two and maybe never owned another corvette. But if there were ever a place to find him...this would be it.

Hi,
Well, I understand that.
There is something nice about having everything that a car originally came with.
I'm the original owner of my 71 and I let a couple of things get away many years ago… and I regret that a bit now.
Regards,
Alan

Who did you buy the car from? Is there the possibility that person may have a hint about the gentleman you are hoping to find?

Easy Mike, I believe the guy I got it from received it from his dad who is no longer with us. He didn't know much about the car other than it was a Texas car till about 2000.
