I think paint thinner was used to "clean" center console by a novice and it melted/fogged the lenses and removed the paint somewhat... my guess is enamel reducer or lacquer thinner.

With some disassembly and CAREFUL polishing MOST of the fogging on the lenses can be polished out. Ike

I noticed that too. Very bad repair job IMO. Makes you wonder what other "repairs" were done by that guy.

A photographers trick is to wet the ground with a hose before taking pictures, especially with cars. Gives the photo more dramatic presence as people are pointing out in this thread.
