Hi GF,
The exterior and interior look pretty nice.
Why are there NO photos of the engine compartment or chassis?
Is $24,000 enough for a nice example of a 71, base motor, automatic, a/c, coupe?
Some more photos might answer that question.
Worth checking out.
Regards,
Alan
The exterior photos have a 'photo-shopped' look about them. Does this car look like this in the flesh?

Looks like a solid unmolested ride.... someone has rattle canned the frame but looks nice. I notice an inspection offering link on the ad for $99.... seems reasonable if you're serious enough to buy it if it checks. If I was in the ,market for that year and color combination, based on the photos, I'D spring for an inspection. Knowing it's had a repaint makes me wonder if ever sustained frame damage would be my reasoning for a mandatory inspection. The company he's offering up as an inspection company may be an Ebay thing or his thing. If it's his, I'd choose another. And finally, he does seem to sell Vette's in many year models so he hopefully buys nice examples.
Hi GF,
Thanks for the link to additional photos.
Based on what I see the price being asked could be a fair price for the buyer and seller.

Alan
Why does the interior look pretty nice, but the gauges in the center cluster look SO bad?

It looks like a car that could be driven and enjoyed without a who lot of fixing. If that is indeed the case, this is a good price. If you buy a cheapo and try to make it like this one, it will cost a lot more than 24 grand.
I'd be more in Mr. Crawfish's world...what's the right answer here for a very original appearing, but imperfect, chrome bumper car? Nit-picking about the gauge cluster aside, this looks pretty darn exceptional to me for a 46 year old vehicle. I'm a solid $20k into my car and while it could run rings around this car speed-wise, there is NO ELEMENT of mine (but for the engine bay and gauge cluster) that could hold a fire to this example.
And to Mr. Alan's point, the seller sure knows how to take a picture. I'd be very happy to get a 'beauty shot' like the first couple. Fresh rain on fresh asphalt in front of a vintage gas station? Sexy. Very well presented.
Assuming it is running/driving and roadworthy, I'd say this would be very well bought in the low 20's. A couple of very light/minor projects and it would shine like a new penny.
Tires are almost 30 years old and the nose badge is broken. It looks like it does have nice lines. It really does appear as the ad claims. With the repaint, you'd want to check for bodywork and do a performance check on all systems. There was a very nice Steel Cities Gray 4-speed car with similar options in the Madison, Wisconsin Craigslist not that long ago for $19k FWIW.

Only real issue I see is the battery box - looks like the whole bottom has been replaced ( poorly ) - but no one will ever see that
also DS rear link bent - typical of alignment shop not know how to adjust rear - OR - rear worn too badly to be adjusted.
and center gauge console broken - also very common

could the centre gauges clear plastic lenses be fogged up, in image 16 the tacho looks clean , in 18 it looks to be starting to fog ,with all that water on the ground outside it could be just that .??
also image 34 shows BOTH strut rods are bent .hopefully just some alignment genius at work.
nice car though , sellers would be asking 50k for it down here
pics touched up for sure....id find an independent inspector dont use thiers!
Mid 20s for a nice 60s anything isnt so bad if its what youre looking for
Wouldnt expect perfection but shouldnt be needing a lot (like suspension, frame off etc)
definitely look at this one in person most look worse.
more info and pics would really help the seller out
