Ok, Iv'e been putting my 77 back together since I got it back from paint .I installed the headlight doors and gaped them ,I got on the computer to order some parts and realized that the mount cups are lettered A,B,C,D.I found out the positions of the cups but what is the difference between them?This is how far I've got.

I added some photos.
You can see all cups have the adjustment at their top.
While 2 of the cups have the adjustment at their left, and 2 have it at their right.
That's why it matters where the cups end up.
