Project - Saving a ‘72

Original for sale thread:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-for-sale.html
When it showed up
I'm pretty sure this was factory option
Not too bad on the interior
The car came out of South Carolina and was pretty covered in the orange mud, took the body off the frame And continued from there
Found the build sheet!
Stripped the frame down, ready for sand blasting and powder coating:
And putting it back together
And that is my progress so far, car was a automatic, but will be converting it to a manual. Also has the original engine, but I'm still debating on the direction I'm going with the engine, i have a 454 block i bought about 12 years ago you the '76 that I may put in. Also bought a complete front end from SoCalVette, which should be arriving soon, hopefully it's as nice as the pictures showed, will update when that comes in. Anyway, thanks for all the info everyone posts, because that's how I've gotten this far!

Happy New Year!
Those pictures flash by pretty quickly, but only HINT at the work they show!
Very Nice!

So your saying plastic ties don't have 'grade' rating???
Really, what kind of person does that?

I'm curious about the condition of the frame. Looks like there was some pitting. Did it require any patches or reinforcement?
I'm liking the brake upgrades.

I did have to do work on it, it was far from perfect. Gusset, diff mount, the worst was the front LH frame horn. Total rot there, had to cut out and replace.

Also installed new rubber bushings, to flair the sleeve, i used an old air chisel tool that I cut the head off and then my HF press. It seems to flair it well, any other tips for this?
