Default Window crank loose: fixable?

Hi,

As you can see in the video, the window crank mechanism is very 'loose'. Is this fixable, or do I need to order a new system?

Hi GKO,
Happy New Year!

If you remove the 'winder' mechanism casting (3 bolts) from the inner door frame you can determine why the stud/ball is loose.
You may be able to tighten it or it may need a new part if it's too worn.
Regards,
Alan

Note the small 'wave washer' that puts pressure on the stud. That washer may be missing or broken.

These are inexpensive, very easy to install and work like a charm. Other vendors may carry as well but I happened to buy them from Paragon. Don't forget to grease the bushings when reassembling.

Happy New Year to you too!

Can I remove the casting without affecting the mechanism behind it?

Hi,
If need be you can remove the large access panel and support the window winder mechanism with your hand as you put the 3 bolts back in place.
Regards,
Alan
