Default Anyone recognize this little wire clips application?

I just remember it attached to the bell housing. Might have held the wires going to the starter??? Any ideas what years it may have been used on or application?

I think I ran into one of those some years ago when I repaired a door rod mechanism that was disconnected. I can't tell you exactly where it goes, but it's in the door behind the door panel and connected to one of the operating rods. Look in an AIM and you should see it.

What's a "do rod?"

Just joking..... Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I am pretty confident it came off a bolt that was attached to a bell housing on a small block??

I will keep looking around. Thanks for responding! Have a great and healthy new year.

Default I found it...

Found someone asking the same question on a Camaro forum. Guess it is the engine wire harness clip on small block engines in 67 and 68. Used on the right side for the wires going to the starter solenoid. Probably has a bunch of applications. Wonder if it was used in corvette??

It's not a clip I've ever seen on a Corvette.

On Corvettes, the engine harness usually ran across the top of the firewall, and the starter wires were held to firewall by a clip either on or below the heater box, not on the bellhousing.

Don't know.... But it looks like something that was installed in the engine bay. It has blackout paint on it (not engine paint) and has PlasticDip to protect routed wires.

I was checking my pictures to see if I got it but I can't find it. I believe that I just took one of those off of my 72. Right side of the bellhousing, 2nd bolt up. I think it is used for the starter wire routing.

I am about 90% on this...

There is a clip on that bolt to retain the starter harness. But, I don't believe that clip is shaped as the one in your photo.

Hi,
This is the bracket that I'd expect to see that secures the cable from the battery as it makes it's way to the solenoid connection.
Regards,
Alam

Much larger, coated in rubber, and opens to accept the cable passing through it.

Default Hi,

The Camaro people have them on the passenger attached to a bell housing bolt. I also looked up the engine wire harness pictures of 68 camaro and saw one attached to the wires going to the starter solenoid.
