Default 70 wiper door

I am trying to track down why my wiper door has never worked. My question is what activates the vacuum to the door. I see on the Wilcox diagram the electric solenoid which looks like it activates the headlight what activates the wiper door?

Hi Tec,
The wiper switch on the dash sends the electrical signal to the wiper door solenoid valve switch mounted on the back of the tachometer housing which controls the vacuum signal to the wiper relay valve which sends the vacuum to the 'open' side of the wiper door actuator.
When the wiper door is fully open the wiper door relay switch completes the electrical circuit to the wiper motor and the wipers start to sweep.
Regards,
Alan

Because of the way the vacuum hoses are run to/from the solenoid switch and wiper door over-ride, pulling the wiper door over-ride opens the door WITHOUT the electrical signal from the dash wiper switch. BUT, the wipers don't start to sweep...because the switch is still off.

My '72 hasn't had reverse lights since I bought it. Living in the city I never felt a need but in the country I've wished they worked quite often. Switched to LED's while I was at it. Very happy.

Edit: Sorry guys, I don't know how this got here. I was adding this to "whacha done to your C3". It ignored the "add post" command for several clicks and then finally loaded but I don't know how I got here.
