Default Mystery single green wire?

My 1980 has a single green male spade connector coming from main wire harness. It is located under the shifter console. I have checked both AIM and original shop manual, and it does not show it . It is factory for sure.

See if you can open this. If not it's in the sticky section above C3 general posts.

Great.

I'll look on my '81's wiring diagram.

Maybe someone else can chime in?

It doesn't look familiar.

FWIW: your "spare" connector may be for an option not installed on your car.

Does the alarm work correctly? There is a green wire for the alarm key switch and the theft deterrent module. All the other green wires that I see would affect a/c or headlight operation.

This information is from my '81 wiring diagram. I do see the green wire that goes under the dash in the wiring diagram. It is not connected and says it connects to the engine harness. But you knew that.
