Default Uhm...where does this go?

I found this in the pile of parts that came with my car. What the heck is it and where does it go? It is approximately 3' long and made of maybe 14ga steel.

Hi ps,
I don't recognize it as being a part from a 70-72 coupe.
Regards,
Alan

Ok, I thought it was just me going crazy. I couldn't find a place for this thing either.

I will put it aside for now and contact the previous owner. He may be missing this part from another build =-)
