I'm in the process of getting all my plastic pieces ready to redye and was wondering if anyone had two toned their interior? I have a 81 and was thinking of doing my food panels all black with that one centerpiece being a dark gray. What do you guys think?
Danny I'm redoing my '81 interior too. And like you I'm going to two tone as well. I think you're wise asking for input/examples of color scheme, it's easy to paint yourself into a corner with something that is ok but just doesn't work. I'm trying to avoid trendiness, going to something conservative so that it'll be more or less timeless in it's appeal.
I'm not doing the work myself, the lady who is and my wife are better at color selection. For my dark blue car I'm going for a tan carpet and two tone seats and trim. Still haven't decided on 2nd color, I might dye the original blue parts black, or keep them blue. But then matching shades of blue could be a trick. Another thread on interiors reminded my that old seat belts will look bad with a new interior. So the new belt will want to be somewhat coordinated with the seats/carpet.
