Question for ncrs judges

The NCRS Corvette Judging Reference Manual in Section 2-" NCRS Judging Purpose, Standards, Guidelines, Rules & Procedures" has a section describing the standard to which cars are to be judged.
That section, in part, states: "Presentation for judging is to be in the condition normally associated with that of a Corvette which has undergone the then current standard Chevrolet Dealer New Car Preparation for delivery to a purchaser, exclusive of any dealer or purchaser inspired additions, deletions, or changes".
I believe the dealer sticker is a "dealer inspired" addition.
I wouldn't make a deduction, but would make a note on the judging sheet indicating it had been observed.
Someone else might well handle it differently.
Regards,
Alan
The sticker might be an indication that the car still has original paint on it, at least that area of the body, which would be interesting to see.

The deduction has to be taken, but not actually for the badge. The deduction has to be taken for the surface under the badge, that can't be judged because of it. This is similar to how passenger side mirrors are treated. The deduction's not for the aftermarket or non factory part, but for the hidden paint and/or non factory mounting holes. So the badge would probably receive a one or two point "condition" deduction, under the paint section of judging.
Personally, I would leave the badge. Keep in mind that you receive 40 condition points for paint, and a total of 4500 points for the car, so one or two points for the badge is nothing. You can easily get those points back, by getting the bonus points for having an NCRS window sticker, or a fire extinguisher in the car.
I believe your right.
I was thinking that since 82 used the word 'sticker' there would be no holes in the fiberglass.
If a dealer 'plate' with studs or screws were installed I agree the holes in the fiberglass would be considered in the same way the holes for an additional mirror or luggage carrier are judged.

Alan

The dealer sticker was removed oh say 20 years ago...on the original paint rear end...
So NOW you can see Blah-blah HOUSTON through the clear coat...darker shade of clear coat.
1. You can see 'underneath the emblem'.
2. you can see the emblems 'shadow'.
schmaybe the best of both worlds? lol
