You don't have to remove the choke housing cover. Just push down on the fast idle cam with your finger when you install the rod. This will raise the connecting lever all the way up so you can "fish" for the hole and engage the rod.
I can post some photos to show the process if you need it.
Thanks was able to get choke rod back on. New therm spring still does not pull & hold choke flap all the way down even with bending the choke rod. I realize we want a dime size gap but I have more than 1/4 in. Kinda flops around a little will close but not positive pull on it, about the same gap I started with.
Could it be other adjustments like the fast idle can stuff or vacuum plungers? Everything seems to have full travel just has play in it kind of loosened.
Should I consider a manual choke? Or just bring it to a shop?
Or perhaps just hard to start since it sits 2-3 weeks between starts? I don' think I have ever tried to start it 2 days in a row for example. Hot starts in a second.
