Not so much a kill switch but works the same way.
Use the purple wire on the neutral safety switch, mount the switch any where you please.
Under the ashtray is works fine.

I bought one from Summit. Its a big red plastic key and the switch kills power to the starter which kills all power to the car, It has 2 male connectors that are switched off the same key which allows you to maintain power to the radio memory and the clock. The key is removable when switched off. I mounted it between the seats so I can easily see it and remove it when I park at shows. I also wired it to a light on the dash so I know when I have power

When I first got my 79 someone had put a toggle switch inline with the primary distributor wire and mounted it near my left foot in a bracket near the kick panel. Took me awhile to figure that one out.
