Old formula Krylon 5-ball semi flat black. It's available through industrial coatings outlets, eBay, and Corvette aftermarket providers.

Hi 68,
Here's the current appearance of the Krylon #1613 paint semi-flat black.

It's acrylic lacquer so it's thin but covers well.
Whatever you're painting must be scrupulously clean.
Do not confuse it with Krylon #51613 which isn't acrylic lacquer.

Some people feel it's a good choice for interior hard parts that were painted black.
Regards,
Alan

This what you should be looking for if you decide to use Krylon 1613.

I have really like the looks of John Deere Blitz Black.

Not a great picture, but shifter plate and speedo and tach housings are painted with it.

Hi cw,
Acrylic lacquer is VERY hard.
That's why it's so easy to obtain an extremely glossy appearance on the exterior of a car painted with acrylic lacquer.
Regards,
Alan

I know many members have used the John Deere paint. I might want to try it.
Looks real good to me Chuck.

J-D Blitz Black for me. Satin black..same sheen as semi-FLAT black. Of recent years, I have not been happy with Krylon paint. Just sayin'....
