Default First Oil pan removal/installation

Tired of oil seepage and a dented oil pan so I'm getting ready to change my oil pan out and wanted so good advice. There is a tie rod or some type of suspension under the pan , will that cause a problem? or should it slide out at an angle?

You should be able to gain the room by removing and dropping the idler arm. Here's a related thread with some more info - https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...n-removal.html

Just to be sure.......lay the new oil pan upside down on a flat surface /granite counter top and check for warpage at the gasket area.

Use acetone or brake cleaner to degrease the area on the engine block to avoid leaks

apply a dab of oil-resistant silicone gasket sealer in all sharp corners of the engine block where the gasket fits.

Tighten the oil pan bolts equally in increments to avoid crushing the gasket creating leaks.

(don't ask how I learned about leaking NEW gaskets )
