I thought about that too. I've not yet done the Speedo and Tach. But do plan to get those to match. Do you have pics of your progress?
This was taken immediately after installing a few weeks ago. If i could do it again I wouldnt use 1/8th inch aluminum.. id go a bit smaller as I dont have the tools available that you do. The two dots in the middle are for left and right turn signals that light up . I didnt want the rest of the lights.

Niiiiiice I like it. You're still working on the center bezel?

Making a few small finishing touches on that cluster but mostly that is how it is going to look other then some trim.
I didnt start the center console cluster yet... got preoccupied with some major A pillar base rust. Going to have to send the car out for repairs for the A pillars as that is beyond my scope. Going to work on the center console area this weekend. Going to be very similar to you except ill probably leave it with a brushed look. Have the DMX905s head unit going to put on top and then a small storage compartment on the bottom for cell phone etc. You have much better tools for such tasks, ill be using dremel with cutting attachment lol

Did u check the fitment for that head unit? Those air ducts behind the upper area get in the way. My cheap one is only 1 &1/2" deep. That one is 6".
Nope didnt check lol. I'm hoping that angle and being not too high up on the console will allow for enough room behind it. If not I'll cut the duct and make my own...maybe lol.
Crap.... I was working out of orange county office today and live 90 min away.. ran home in traffic, opened the box with the head unit, ran to back garage and mocked it up... no way this fits without a really big headache.

you are right... returning this tomorrow ..
what head unit do u have?
I just got a cheap unit from ebay. I searched for shallow mount head unit. Its like $100, Android based, and I haven't tested it yet. Not real optimistic about the quality. But the fit is great. I figure if i can get an audio signal to the amp and use some of the features on the unit it wont break me if its not that great. I may switch if/when a mainstream company makes one that fits. #NoCDPlayer
Wow. That's quite nice. I like that "rear camera input" too. Egad! It's not like I need another project!
Nice work.

Here's mine. I used steel though, it'll get painted black. Speedo/tach layout too.screen is xrross off ebay. Nice android unit so far. The depth is a little shorter than most of the dd units plus I'm running aftermarket ac. I double checked my dimensions before i bought.

WOOOOOOWWWWW!!! I'm not brave enough to break my interior down that far. Unless AB-SO-LUTE-LY NECESSARY!!! LOOKS GOOD tho.

NIce! very clean look to the console.
Let us know how the unit is. I was on their website for 4 minutes and found 5 spelling errors and other things which made it look very unprofessional in terms of presentation. But at the end of the day im looking for an android head unit that will fit.

Any side views of that radio?
I'm doing an ls3 swap so I'm going through just about everything (ac to eng bay harness, to headlights, to new speakers, wilwood brakes.....it'll be a different car). The screen has an obd2 plug so i can run a gauge app for oil press, water temp, etc if i wanted.
No other pictures right now but here's a link to it if your looking for the depth which is right at 5".

I've played with it for about 30 minutes setting it up the other night. Youtube, amazon apps works fine while connected to my homes wifi. I can't speak for audio quality yet (won't be anytime soon either). I haven't messed with the gps yet. So far it's just like a mounted version of my galaxy phone. As long as it lasts I'll be pleased, price wasn't bad either. My expectations for it when i ordered wasn't very high. I will be hooking up a backup camera in the future but too much other stuff on my plate now.
There are some cheesy little things about it that i had to work around. For instance, the bezel around the screen doesn't actually snap onto anything. I decided to position it and then tac weld it together (yes plastic weld). Glue probably would've seeped through and madr a mess.
I played around with mine as well. Just from the ad on ebay yours seems more refined. BUT. Mine is cool too. Didnt really go thru many apps. Watched a video that was on it already. Went to the nav screen while driving. Found my location fine and tracked me home with gas station locations n such, MPH display, over speed limit warning. Didn't have antenna or speaker hooked up so no idea about the radio or sound. My radio pressed fit into location from the back of the panel. I made small clamps to hold it in location.
Press fit and homemade clamps (UpperRight Side) hold the super lightweight radio in place.
I've asked this question before but never received a useful answer: Since digital screens are available to install in a vehicle, why hasn't someone developed software for a gauge package shown on the digital screen? Software could allow the user to select gauge types, location, size, color, etc AND you could toggle the screen between navigator, gauges, TV, skype, whatever. Putting individual gauge pods in a plate just seems like a total waste of time, considering the digital capabilities available now.

There are lots of Android apps that do this. The trick is that they use OBD II for the interface to the car's sensors. No problem for an LS converted C3, though.
