If your talking about the piece that goes over the transmission and not the color piece, it has to be cut in a couple of sections or the transmission has to be dropped.
Hi Rick,
Welcome!
I'm glad you're here!
As Brian explained, the blanket really needs to be cut into several pieces to get it in place with the body on the frame.
If you decide to cut it remember that part of the cut has to be in the area of the opening in the insulation for the shifter lever.... if it's 4-speed car.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

I did mine with the trans in place but the driver shaft, exhaust and trans crossmember were all out as well as the shifter cables etc so it was relatively easy....
The insulation and the front horse-collar foam piece does make a difference in the heat coming into the interior, worth doing.

Installing the insulation blankets on my '69. I see these great pics and read about cutting, does anyone have pictures of the cut patterns? I can find any diagrams that depict the orientation of the blankets. And the precut rectangular holes seem to line up with the metal mounting tab for the splash shield and heat shield, but then it doesn't cover the peak of the trans tunnel.
