Default 81 corvette wire question

On my dad's 81 I can't figure out where this brown connector goes to. It is a white wire off the brown wire to the distributor. Any idea?
Thanks
Joey

I think it should go to the tach filter.

Look at post #3 in this link to see what the filter looks like

Thank you both. I will take a look. Strange it was removed. It is a all original car with very low miles. I was cleaning it up to be judged when I noticed it. Thanks again.

I think I found the answer. I looked again in the AIM and did more research. Looks like DUB answered this back in 2014.

The white wire coming off your distributor...that is plugged into the TACH area on your cap...has another white wire that has a brown female connector end on it. This is used for connecting test equipment while working in the enginecompartment so you can see the RPM's when testing and repairing anything that requires watching the RPM's.

I saw the same wire yesterday when I was troubleshooting a misfire on my 80'. Good to know!
