Corvette news ?

I have a 12 space Corvette News hard back blue Binder.
I have all 6 issues for my 1968.
What was correct for the other 6 spaces?
1967 issues or 1969?
Not sure how they would have been bundled back in the day?
TIA,
Marshal
I never thought about it.
I guess maybe 2 full volumes in each binder if you were doing a whole set..... but maybe in this case, 3 issues from before your Volume and 3 issues after it?
It seems the first issue of a volume was the October/November issue. (Does it seem that way to you?)
Regards,
Alan

great idea!
I like your way of thinking on this one.
I'll get late 67 and early 69 to flank the 6 68 issues.
If there's no accepted practice this will fill out the book nicely.

If you bought your car shortly after production began in late 67, you likely ended up with a full set of 68's, but if you bought your car in September 68, you might have only gotten one 68 issue. For most owners' the first issue in their binder, would be the first issue they received for Chevrolet.
I don't remember when the binders came out, but I don't believe they were free. If you wanted binders, I'm pretty sure you had to order and pay for them?
I have to think that if you have a full set 68 issues, the logical issues to fill your binder, would be the 6 1969 issues. The subscription ran for a few years, so you would have continued to receive the magazine in 69.
Corvette News was first published in 1957. Initially, it was a a quarterly publication, but later it became bi-monthly. At some point in the late 80's/early 90's, it was returned to a quarterly publication. Around 1995 it was renamed Corvette Quarterly. GM ceased publication of Corvette Quarterly at the beginning of 2009.
Corvette News was sent to owners of new Corvettes, as well as every Chevrolet dealership, and all Chevrolet sales people. I don't know if originally there was an official limit to how many issues a new owner received, but around 1980 they started limiting the free subscription to two or three years, but you could pay to continue to receive the magazine.
Old issues of Corvette News can be found on eBay, at swap meets and even in the Collectibles Section of the Corvette Forum. I may have an extra set of 78 issues myself. I'll try to look before I leave for Spring Carlisle on Tuesday.

Thank you for the education on the Corvette News publication.
I never knew that you had to send in the subscription card located
in the owners manual. Very
history.I was too young to take advantage of those great years when you could special order your new car.
My dad told me stories of ordering his 1956 Ford Fairlane
from JB White Ford in the Frankford section of Phila., PA.
He got out of the Army that year, married my mom in November, bought a 56 Fairlane and they went on their honeymoon.
If you wanted a police interceptor engine he said just check the box.
Truly a car built for you.
He said he wanted the Crown Vic model because of the cool trim but it was too much money.
I would have loved to been able to order a 60's Chevy back in the day.
Thank you again, I purchased 5 out of the 6 issues from another
forum member in the for sale parts sect of this forum for 1969.
I guess I'll check ebay for the missing issue.
