Default 1975 C3 vette

Hi. I'm looking at purchasing a 1975 Corvette. I'm looking at one currently however the seller and I seem to miles apart on price. I'm hoping if I post the specs and condition that you the other posters on this forum would give me an idea of where we settle on price. Thanks you.
It's a 1975 C3 L48 base model. 40000 miles with a new paint job, convertible top and little rust. There is however damage to the rear and front bumpers, cracks in the tail lights, broken seat back on the passenger seat. There is also a hole in the battery compartment about the size of a softball. The vehicle hasn't been on the road for approx 3 to 4 years and the tires are from the 80's. The vehicle is dirty inside and the carpet is faded and somewhat worn.
Any advise on price owuld be great. Photos available if that helps.

Ill move this to General discussion.

Telling us the ask price vs what you think its worth is relevant.

Is the new paint the correct color on the trim tag? Is the motor original?

Post your pictures if you want better guesses.

The motor is original and pretty clean. The paint does match the original color. The seller is asking close to $30000 while I feel.a correct price would be between $10000 and $15000. Closer to $10000. I will post pics shortly.

I own and am restoring a 75 currently. It's coupe, with 66K original miles, garage kept, strictly minor surface rust in any of the problem areas. The car was hit and has a salvage title (doesn't matter to me, I'll never sell it.) and I only paid 2 grand, they're only worth 8-10 in restored condition. You're probably looking at 6 grand or less for the car you're looking at, although without pictures I can't give a positive answer.

Pass on this one. It's not likely the seller is going to come down to your range regardless of what might be posted here.

30k for a 75 is nuts hes looking to cash in. Look in the fs section here you can get one hell of a nice 68-72 even a big block car for that.

Way out on asking price. 11 to 12 just cause it's a convertible. And then that's probably a reach.

First of all, anywhere near 30K for that '75 isn't even in the ballpark considering the description the OP provided. On the other hand I can see where a rubber bumper C3 might be worth about that if it's been on the receiving end of some TLC by a discerning owner. I have about 26K into my '77 L-84 4spd and that's without a body off and it's still in original paint. I would hope that a buyer who knows his vettes would realize all the work and replacement parts that have gone into it, and the nice shape it is in generally, all that the buyer would not have to do or worry about. I won't hold my breath. I'm sure I'd be very lucky to get 2/3 of that back on a sale. Guess I'll just have to keep it. Darn.

That price for a 1975 and I would expect the car to be showroom-perfect but the motor is something all-aluminum and speedy. Speedier than that.

Yeah unless there is something extremely rare and special about the car there is much more going on. It looks like a neglected car. The passengers seat back is disconnected, the drivers side seat seems to be leaning against the convertible cover. I doubt the lack of repairs ends there, I would bet that when you get into the car you will find alot more issues.

After seeing the pics-holy smokes!!! I think maybe there was a typo and the real price was $3,000. Just by the pics I've seen much, much nicer '75 roadsters for $8-12K as others have said. Without seeing chassis or motor pics, looks like a $6,000 car to me. I've been to many "dreamers" homes selling Corvettes for unrealistic prices and I wonder what does eventually happen to them or do they just sit there for sale forever? Last tag or estate sale I went to had a red '60 Corvette for $30K firm. Motor didn't run, could have been locked, dead battery, paint blistering in spots, rusty bumpers, flat tires, no brakes. Looked like it had a mild restoration maybe 20yrs ago and little done since. Guy asked me if I had an offer and I said I could go $15K and he just laughed. I did too!!! Told him if he gets $20K offer, you better jump on it. Car was barely a looking driver, let alone all the mechanical issues.
