In need of this piece of fiberglass that secures the upper rear of front clip to the top of firewall cowel edge. Does any one know why 1973 is different from a 72 or a 71 for this piece? I suspect it may have something to do with the elimination of the vacuum operated wiper door. Are the parts for these years interchangeable or are there differences?

Jeff... I've got tons of old fiberglass but I have to admit.. I'm lost as to what you are talking about. Do you have a picture? If so please post it and I'll take a look and see what I have.
The hood surround gutter. If you remove the front clip in one piece this has to be separated from the top of the firewall where these two pieces are epoxied together. This fiberglass gutter piece is the only thing cross connecting the two upper fenders together once the front clip has be removed. I see it listed by vendors on the internet as " fiberglass rear hood surround firewall cowl ledge". These are listed as 1974-1982 and I'm restoring a 1971 coupe. Not sure if these are interchangeable for all C3's.
Their catalogue lists it as being the same piece for all 68-82 cars.
But you might want to make sure.
Regards,
Alan
Thank you Alan. I will call them in the morning. I recently purchased a OEM front clip which I will be installing on my 71. This gutter piece was missing from the clip that I purchased. I could cannibalize the original clip that I removed but would like to see if I could sell my original one complete.
