Hi a,
During 71 production 454 equipped cars had a plastic shroud while a simple round steel fan shroud was used on 350 cu.in. cars which have an aluminum radiator.
Regards,
Alan

A later car with a 454 engine and a plastic shroud.

A 71 with a steel shroud and aluminum radiator.

Nice pictures as always! Follow up question: did the manual and auto cars have the same fan shroud?

Hi PK,
I believe that for 70-72 production:
Only base motor, 4-speed cars had the steel shroud.
Base motor automatic, or base motor a/c, or base motor automatic and a/c cars, had a copper radiator and the plastic shroud.
All 454 cars regardless of transmission or a/c used a copper radiator and plastic shroud.
Regards,
Alan

Hi Alan,

Just wanted to mention that 454's with a/c uses the 7 blade pointy finger fan blade along with the plastic shroud. Non a/c uses the 5 blade fan blade.
