Default Aftermarket Disappointment

My old parking brake console retainer chrome was looking rough so I got an aftermarket one.... what were once holes for the power window switches are now slots....
Does anyone have suggestion on how to mount my switches now...has anyone dealt with this yet?

I don't see it being a problem, although I understand your disappointment with aftermarket parts! Its always best to restore original OEM parts when you can. Just use over size washers and maybe some 6-32 nuts and bolts. Not original but will work.

That's what those speed-nuts (clips) are for. Slide them over the slots (flat-side toward the switch), then insert screw thru switch body and into the speed-nuts. You can leave the screws slightly loose so the switch body can find a 'home' in the console opening.

I pulled those out my extra parts bin... those are too big, but maybe I can find some shorter smaller ones at an auto parts store.. I’ll figure something out that works

Back together ..... painted console & cleaned up 43 year old window switches with white diamond polish and Qtips.... they have a little pitting it still work good. I actually bought new ones but was disappointed with the aftermarket quality which motivated me to clean the old ones up.
