Default whose fuel line to get?

I need to replace the fuel line from the pump to the card. Any preference to brand? Classictube.com? inlinetube.com? Or ???. I looked at Paragons, Ecklers, Zip, corvette Central, etc and I'm assuming they get theirs from one of these two.

I recommend Inline Tube. They had proper bends and fit very well. The original tubes I bought from Classic Tube did not.

I got the "kit" for the L-88 from one of the big vendors. It fit like a saddle on a sow. I ended up making one from 3/8 tubing and a bunch of inverted flare nuts. Now, it's all hand bent with AN fittings.

You'll have to tweak fitment on any kit, my recommendation would be to NOT get any of the stainless lines. They are pretty tough to get a proper seal.

I'm on line #3. Bought a stainless line, leaked at the fuel pump, misfromed flare. Bought a steel line from another vendor, leaked at the fuel pump, misformed flare. Reinstalled the 49 year old original line, had to bend it to fit, no leaks. Bought another stainless line from private seller, flares looked good but seeped fuel at pump. Tighten the living **** out of fitting, so far, no leaks. But I'm going to replace it anyways. I don't want to wait for Corvette Carlisle to see one, in hand, before paying for it. I'm not having any luck finding an original GM 67 400/435 fuel line.
I thought there was some sort of bevel sealing washer to use between the two flares for situations like this. Goodridge sends them with their C6 brake lines. I can't find them for in the size I need.

Fitment isn't the problem. Fuel leakage is. It is a 69 435 car and I installed a 67 435 manifold.

I got the one for my 72 SB from Jegs....It came in a box from a different vender and the line was marked from another vender. It was off by a couple of inches at the carb but was easy to bend and seal was not an issue. I will post a photo of the label tonight. I did use plain steel, I didn't want any part of the nightmare of trying to get S/S to not leak.

I agree to avoid stainless lines on any tube that has a fitting. On my 77, the fuel lines are all attached with rubber hoses, so I used stainless on the fuel lines, and Tin Bundy original style on brake lines. No leaks, and everything fit very well with only very minor adjustments.....on the tubes from Inline Tube. The Classic Tube lines were WAY off and I lost a lot of money shipping them back i.e. shipping charges were not credited.

Note: I had Inline Tube bend me a custom fuel line from pump to Quadrajet....because I used an Edlebrock RPM intake that sits about an inch higher than stock....so they simply provided a custom line that was about an inch taller. Fit perfectly, no leaks. Tin Bundy , not stainless..

I've got a set from Zips for my L46 SB arriving today. The brake lines I bought from them fit great so I figured I give them a shot. I'm using steel same as the originals and as noted above they are easier to tweak. I expect that I won't have to worry about the new ones the old ones lasted 49 years with vise grip damaged nuts and weld repaired tubing. I'll let you know how they fit.

I bought the ss lines off ebay from SS Tubes. They leaked like a sieve. Went to rubber hose for now.

I bought stainless from Corvette America. No issues to speak of. Easy install with the frame off.

3X2 here are some pix , I installed the ones I got from Zip today, Nicely double flared no leaks. They did need some tweaking they are steel and adjusted fine it would have been real difficult if they were SS. Here are some pictures of the pump to filter, filter to carb and bypass pipes. Make sure you get the clip that ties the vent line to the pump to filter line. Tim

Looks good Tim. I have a 427 tri power, so there is no filter or return line.

Thanks. I Kinda figured that may be the case. Most complaints were about flares, leaking and fitment so while different I thought I'd send some feedback on those issues since the SB has a few more bends and parts involved.
