Default Ignition

I went to start my 70 vette and the key just turned. It turns on the radio and the windows work but nothing when it comes to starting. Is it the ignition switch or the tumbler?

When you say "the key just turned", do you mean it feels different from what it usually feels like?
Is this an automatic or manual?
If you turn on the headlights, do they go very dim when you try to start it?

It is an automatic and the steering wheel is stationary. When you turn the key it doesn't do anything, the key doesn't click or come back. the car doesn't start.

if the key feels different than normal and it doesnt have that springy feel, then the ignition switch down in the column probably moved. You can get on your back and crawl under the dash and see it maybe, or you'll have to pull the drivers seat and the lower rim off the column/dash

Hi my70,
Did you consider that it might be a problem with the ignition interlock switch?
Is the shifter fully in either Park or Neutral?
Regards,
Alan
