I have not used it but recently saw some in action! the braided loom is much more flexible than the plastic black split looms. They look very nice also!
I think you will be happy if what you bought is what I saw!
Virtually all of my wiring is in split-braid. IMHO it's great stuff to work with and looks the way I want it to be.
A couple of observations is that you need the right size(s) for the wire bundle your are covering or it doesn't work out as nice.
Heat shrink tubing on the ends (where you can) is clean. Cutting with a hot knife helps prevent it from fraying
Try to avoid zip ties as they tend to "sausage link" the stuff I use velcro strips but cut strips of electrical tape not pulled tight works well

I am using these looms now and think they really finish things off like a pro. But the best investment I made was the Painless installation tools, 3 sizes. Slide the wires in the top, put the braid on the bottom and they practically load themselves into the loom. Not cheap but I think it makes things a lot easier.
Quick note.....Bought the Painless Powerbraid from Jegs. Then bought the cheapo stuff from E Bay. Same exact thing. Got twice as much for half the price.
